This mosque, designed for an anonymous space, represents a sophisticated balance of tradition and innovation, with refined details that are deeply rooted in Islamic architectural typology. The complex structure includes both a main prayer hall and an expansive courtyard, allowing for both spiritual reflection and communal gathering. The exterior is adorned with Islamic geometric motifs, intricately shaped through parametric design tools, which lend the building a modern yet timeless quality.
Kayseri Mosque Prototype
One of the most striking features is the contrast between the exterior and interior forms. From the outside, the mosque’s macro form is perceived as a cubic geometry, symbolizing stability and simplicity. However, upon entering, one is greeted with the surprising effect of a dome—a symbolic and spatial transformation. The dome itself is a feat of structural ingenuity, composed of tube-like elements of varying diameters, arranged in an inductive manner to create a dynamic visual and spatial experience.
